The article raises the actual problem of physical education in educational institutions at all levels of education, from preschool education to higher education institutions. The reasons for the decrease in the level of physical fitness of modern youth and some ways to solve them are shown. The technology of physical education and the main directions contributing to improving the effectiveness of physical education in educational institutions are analyzed.
