Problems of public transport in Irkutsk

The article touches upon the issue of the development of public transport in Irkutsk, the effective operation of which helps to reduce traffic congestion, improve the environmental situation and increase the availability of transport services for residents and visitors of the city. The main problems of using various types of public transport in the city are outlined: a high percentage of worn-out rolling stock, unsynchronized operation of various types of public transport, the quality of passenger service, the skill level of the driving staff, half of the bus routes belong to private companies, etc. The authors propose ways to improve the operation of the public transport system in the city.
