Problems of historical science politicization in Russia (case study of nationalist trends in historiography

The history plays a special role in the development of national identity and memory. This role of history is actualized in the transit societies. The history is closely intertwined with nationalism. The nationalist intellectuals aspire to establish and suggest historical narratives from the nationalist perspective. This nationalists’ activity results in various consequences. It contributes to diffusion of standards of a historical research and encourages politicization of historiography.
