The study discusses the aspects of introducing the modern information technologies into the health care sector. Telecommunications require medical institutions both to use the new equipment and to make various structural changes related to the interpersonal relations and the legal base. The author emphasizes that the medical community should modify its knowledge and views in this context. Such a transformation will not only keep the traditional relations between a physician and a patient but also improve the medical diagnosis as well as make it possible to choose the right therapeutic approach. Otherwise, it may lead to the irrelevance of a legal term ‘physician in charge’ due to the uncontrolled self-treatment and drug trafficking. The research describes the key regulatory issues of telemedicine and provides recommendations for addressing them.
