The problems of professional burnout of personnel in tourism industry

The article is devoted to professional burnout of employees in the tourism sector. The article clarifies the concept of “professional burnout”, its features and manifestations. The authors analyze scientific works dedicated to professional burnout among employees in hospitality industry and related industries and problems of leaving by personnel the tourism professions. An analysis of scientific research allows to formulate the need to study the phenomenon of burnout among tourism industry employees. For this purpose, we analyzed the offers on the labor market and the characteristics of the perception of professions related to the tourism industry. As a result, professions, directly related to tourism, are identified, and grouped by key activity. The survey of the tourism industry workers helped us to understand are they burned out and what the reasons for this. We have established the relationships between the characteristics of activities, workload and risk factors, and the presence of manifestations of professional burnout in different groups of tourism specialties. The study has resulted in idea that systemic interaction in the internal and external environments of tourism enterprises can address the problems of diagnosis, prevention and overcoming the consequences of professional burnout of employees.
