The article is devoted to future forecasts, state typology and classification. The author notes the importance of prognostic function of theory of state and law and their place in futurology of state and the relation with future state concepts. The approaches to state typology based on the values of the social group that rules in the state, religion, production principles and politogenesis stages etc. are characterized. State classifications according to the criteria of economic development and human development index are shown. The concepts of state analogues (supranational entities, transnational corporations, private states, cyberstates, network states) are described. The meaning of state development indices is noted. Attention is drawn to the advisability of further studies of weak and powerful state concepts. The importance of interaction between theory of state and law and other sciences is emphasized.
