This article examines the classical concepts of models of electoral behavior, analyzes their strengths and weaknesses, and assesses the applicability of these models to the study of the electoral process and electoral behavior in Russia in historical perspective and contemporary practice. Additionally, the article explores the political and legal aspects of the implementation of electoral behavior models in Russian history. It analyzes the evolution of electoral behavior and identifies key legal and political challenges that hinder the formation of sustainable electoral behavior models in Russia. Particular attention is paid to the influence of state institutions, legal regulation of elections, and ideological attitudes on the nature of citizens’ participation in electoral processes.
