Problems of improvement of organizational structure and activity forms of railway and water transport police

This article deals with the peculiarities of law enforcement and public safety on river, sea and railway communications. The author reviews basic problems of improving the organization and activities of police in transport in the second half of the XIX century. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of the personnel policy in units of transport police, basic forms and methods of its work. The author considers specific tasks and powers of transport police. The author examines the regulatory framework and the organization of transport police activities during the period under review, basic methods and techniques of law enforcement on highways of the country. The features of water and railway police activities in the fight against strike and revolutionary movements are analyzed. The article describes the basics of using overt and covert methods of transport police activities in criminal environment in transport infrastructure.
