In the analysis of Dostoevsky's novel Crime and Punishment, the author of the article considers conscience as an absolute moral law, to which narrative in the novel, actions of heroes are subordinated. Raskolnikov's conscience speaks in the symbolic language of dreams, the awakening of the conscience of the hero has a symbolic meaning, the great evil is defeated by goodness and conversion to the Gospel.
