The article is devoted to the analysis of problems in the employment of elderly people. The authors analyzed the indicators of the number of pensioners, employment and unemployment levels for 2008-2021. Based on the HeadHunter data, the reasons for the refusal of employment by age candidates are considered, a conclusion is made about the existing ageism in the labor market, which is based on the stereotypes of HR managers. The authors have identified the strengths and weaknesses of working pensioners for employers, the authors consider the development of the institute of mentoring to be the main activity of age-related employees in organizations, which will ensure the transfer of practical experience and knowledge to young professionals, and for pensioners themselves will reduce the negative impact of termination of employment and increase social activity, which is an obligatory element of active longevity. In conclusion, the authors make recommendations on the need to improve the legal regulation of the work of pensioners and support employers who actively attract the elderly.
