Problems of managing regional development of Volgograd and Astrakhan region

The given article is devoted to consideration of actual questions and problems of management of regional development of the Volgograd and Astrakhan regions. The article examines the current characteristics and trends of regional development, the main strategic objectives and principles of regional development management. Regional development is understood as a mode of functioning of a regional system that is oriented towards a positive dynamics of the parameters of the level and quality of life of the population provided with a stable, balanced and multifactorial reproduction of the social, economic, resource and ecological potentials of the territory. The article outlines the main prospects for the development of the regions.
