Problems of internal and external labor migration in Russia

Migration policy in Russia faces problems of regulating migration flows, social adaptation of migrants, the emergence of social tensions in society, and problems in the legal sphere. The purpose of the study is to study the problems of internal and external labor migration in Russia. The main trends were studied and the problems of migration policy in the Russian Federation for 2019-2023 were identified. It was concluded that in recent years, the scale of migration processes in the Russian Federation has been negatively affected by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical processes. In 2023, there was a trend towards an increase in internal and external migration, the number of issued labor patents for foreign citizens, but at the same time, the number of violations of migration legislation increased. To solve the problems of internal and external labor migration in Russia, it is necessary to improve migration legislation, improve the social integration of migrants, improve the structure of migration, etc.
