Challenges of the higher education from the human-level perspective

The article considers a set of problems of higher education, which have become an everyday reality in the life of universities, since they are not solved for a long period. It is shown that these problems lead the domestic higher school to a dead end and hinder the socio-economic development of the country. It is proposed to move away from the narrowly understood economic determinism in the organization of personnel training to a broader approach, in which higher education is considered not as a service sector, but as a social institution that provides socio-cultural inheritance, the development of people and ideas.
