Air Pollution Problems in the Capital of Kyrgyzstan

The paper examines the problems of air pollution in the city of Bishkek. It analyzes the data of a population survey to assess the ecological state of the city and proposes measures to improve the environment. In conclusion, it is proposed to ensure the priority of public transport over all others, improve and expand the infrastructure for cyclists, increase the infrastructure for pedestrian traffic, stop the expansion of roads (especially in residential areas), territorially zone the city (with a partial and complete ban on motor vehicles), and introduce regular technical inspection of personal vehicles. In addition, it is proposed to increase the area of green spaces in the city, ensuring measures to protect them (installation of units for cleaning industrial emissions, selection of types of dust-resistant and gas-resistant trees and shrubs, implementation of the necessary planning measures within the sanitary protection zones).
