Problems of legislative consolidation of the legal status of the head of a municipality

The Article analyzes the legal status of the head of a municipality in the Russian Federation. The problems of legal regulation of the considered sphere of public relations are revealed. The necessity of improving the state policy in the field of local self-government development is justified. On the basis of the conducted research, proposals for the formation of municipal authorities can be identified.
