The article deals with the problem of employment of persons of retirement and pre-retirement age against the background of the aging population of Russia. The number of working pensioners in the Russian Federation for 2014-2021 is analyzed. The authors identified the main problems in maintaining a workplace or finding a new one for older people. The experience of Russian research on the problems of active longevity of older people is summarized. Recommendations are proposed on the procedure for selecting employees of retirement and pre-retirement age, as well as drawing attention to Age Management as an element of the personnel policy of the organization.
