The study of professional and creative abilities of an engineer is considered. The necessity of including of acmeology as the base of future engineer’s professional and creative formation is justified. The author presents the process of engineer’s professional and creative abilities development. The author comes to the conclusion that the task of higher education of new quality is an engineers’ professional and creative abilities development.
