Procedural representation as an element of ensuring citizens’ access to justice

The article analyzes the legal status of representatives in various branches of law, including civil, civil procedure, arbitration procedure, criminal procedure and administrative procedure legislation. Various points of view on the definition of representation and its types are discussed. Contradictions are revealed between the norms of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and procedural legislation regarding the requirements for representatives in court, which may limit the rights of citizens to choose a representative and access to qualified legal assistance.
