In the second half of the twentieth century, new principles of education were formed, a new science of adult education arose and is dynamically developing - andragogy. The monograph is devoted to the social and pedagogical factors of andragogy, and the development of adult education and the formation of andragogical foundations of education were chosen as the object of work. The main purpose of the work is to reveal the factors and theoretical foundations for the emergence of andragogy and to determine the patterns of development. The paper analyzes the world experience in the formation of andragogy as an independent science, reveals the andragogy approach and the basic principles of andragogy in the process of adult education.
