The article deals with the technological aspect of the food security of Russia. It is emphasized that the production of food is an initial and determinative principle of all social production, since it meets the basic need of a human. It is concluded that the crisis phenomena in the provision of population with food products require development of different spheres of agriculture, their technological, managerial and economic relations.
