Food security in the Arctic territories of the Russian Federation

The article deals with the urgent issues of food security in the Arctic regions of Russia. Special attention is paid to the use of the Arctic population resources in food self-sufficiency and use of traditional livelihoods of indigenous peoples. The authors have analyzed existing regulations and proposals of some researchers regarding implementation of the food security programs in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, on the basis of which original guidelines on resolving the aforesaid problems are suggested.
