Food import substitution in the Russian Federation and its regional aspect

The article discusses the features of the implementation of the import substitution program in the Russian Federation and a separate region for 2019-2021. The key indicators characterizing the process of import substitution in the country are analyzed, the features of food import substitution are revealed both at the country level and regionally. The main problems hindering the implementation of import substitution are identified and ways to solve the identified problems are proposed. It is concluded that solving the problem of import substitution requires systematic work at the state level and socio-economic programs are the main tool for implementing the import substitution strategy in the regions of the country.
