Food consumption in Krasnoyarsk 1953-1990

The paper deals with issues related to the food consumption of the population of Krasnoyarsk in 1953-1990. The relevance of research is due to the public interest shown in the study of various aspects of the material conditions of life of the population, determining the quality of life. The scientific novelty of the work is seen in the fact that previously unpublished archival materials stored in the State Archives of the Krasnoyarsk Region are introduced into circulation. The results of the analysis of the development of nutrition of citizens from 1953 to 1990 are presented. Particular attention is paid to the consideration of the drawings presented by the author, containing digital data on the topic of the article. It is noted that the level of food consumption in Krasnoyarsk increased in the years under review, although the growth was not so high in different categories. There was a shortage of certain goods in the city. In general, for 1953-1990 the state did significant work aimed at improving the quality of nutrition of the population of Krasnoyarsk. Not only its calorie content has grown, but also its quality. Cheap calories in the face of bakery products and potatoes gradually decreased in the diet of Krasnoyarsk residents, while the amount of animal products obtained from consumption increased. The general level of nutrition of the population according to the main characteristics was not much inferior to the level of nutrition of the population of the countries of Western Europe, but significantly bypassed other parts of the planet.
