The food supply issue (security) and state participation in its resolution

Бесплатный доступ

Ensuring food security for the population has always been one of the most im-portant state tasks. An analysis of the methods used to address this issue in the Soviet and mod-ern periods of our country's development reveals significant differences in the approaches used. The principle of alignment between the tools for addressing the food issue and the institutional organization of the economy is observed: in Soviet times, the focus was on "food supply", while in modern Russia, it is on "food security". Based on an analysis of a practical case involving the production and consumption of chicken eggs, the need for a combined approach to addressing the food issue in the Russian Federation, combining market and administrative instruments, is demonstrated.
