For many years we developed some elements of agricultural technics for sesame to obtain high-quality seeds and edible vegetable oil in conditions of drylands of the Gissar zone of the Republic of Tajikistan. Basing on the results field experiments, we developed planting methods and seed sowing rates for sesame. Our studies showed the productive moisture is the general criterion to obtain high sesame seed yields in conditions dry-lands. Preservation of soil moisture ensures normal growth and development of sesame plants throughout the growing season, improves the soil texture and promotes successful agricultural treatments for simultaneous seedlings appearance. Wide-row planting with inter-row spacing of 60 cm and seed sowing rate of 6 kg seeds pwe ha appeared to be the best variant in conditions of provided with rainfalls dry-lands of the Central Tajikistan. When implementing the recommended technique in the dry conditions of the Gissar Valley, it is possible to obtain up to 0.49 t per ha of seeds and up to 245 kg of pure vegetable oil.
