In 2015-2016 at the experimental crop rotation of the laboratory of introduction, selection of forage and oilseeds was conducted the study of the growth and development of new, rare forage crops in the forest-steppe of the Samara Zavolzhye. The yield of green mass of the studied forage crops was in the range of 20.2-40.3 t/ha. The greatest yield of green mass was provided by mallow and amaranth. Maize, mallow and amaranth (80,53-95,03 GJ/ha) differed by the maximum output of exchange energy. All studied cultures are valuable sources of vegetable protein. Over the years of studying the output of digestible protein per unit area was at the level of 0,27-0,73 t/ha. Malva, amaranth and annual clover provided the greatest yield of digestible protein.
