We studied varietal productivity of safflower for feed and seeds on the dark gray soils of Central Tajikistan in 2015-2018. The safflower variety VIR-489 appeared to be the most acceptable for feed production from 11 studied varieties cultivated in conditions with an annual precipitation of 500-700 mm. The forage mass of this variety in these conditions is the most nutritious. This variety is characterized by the highest height (up to 150 cm), good foliage, which amounted to 54.2 t per ha of green mass, which provides an output of 8.7 t per ha of feed units and 1.6 t per ha of digestible protein. And the variety Shifo appeared to be the best for safflower seed production. This variety forms up to 31.0 heads containing 35 seeds. Seed yield was 2.63 t per ha, oil yield - 9.78 kg per ha.
