The article considered the main marketing events that contribute to the effective promotion of a tourism product in the world practice A comparative assessment of the events to promote tourism products carried out among the leading countries in terms of income from international tourism and in Russia was given. The most effective tools of foreign and domestic marketing for promoting tourism products were highlighted. Tools for promoting tourism products in domestic practice were proposed taking into account foreign experience.
