The article considers the cultural signs of Pushkin's text in V. Makanin's novel «Fright» (2006). Focusing on Eros as a central component of myth concerning Pushkin, Makanin projects an old man's satyriasis not as a diagnosis but as existential resistance to the finiteness of life.
