For the first time on such a wish of the Chinese side declared its leader Xi Jinping in 2013 during a visit to Kazakhstan. Particular attention is paid to the role of Russia in the implementation of the Economic Silk Road and nature of potential cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Economic Silk Road. Economic times are generally Silk Road opens new Russian considerable opportunities. True only if Russia is reasonable, on favorable terms, will take part in this project, based on a serious increasing economic opportunities in China. On the other hand China clearly understands that without cooperation with Russia, without her the Chinese Silk Road project will be incomplete, if not realizable. Northern corridor of the new Silk Road extends from Western China through Kazakhstan to Russia, Orenburg, and then, according to today's China - to St. Petersburg and the Baltic Sea, as well as through Belarus via Warsaw and further - into Western Europe. It is so to say "traditional line" of the Great Silk Road. That is in line with today's Chinese version of the Silk Road Russia is not only a transit country (the country, providing the transit of goods through its territory and gets through this earnings), but also a key partner of the Eurasian corridor in the northern part.
