The article is devoted to the analysis of foreign experience of project management in municipal authorities. It is shown that many foreign countries have established structures specializing in the development of projects aimed at the development of municipalities. It was noted that the development of regional development projects is carried out within the framework of strategic development plans. In modern foreign practice in the field of project management, the "bottom-up" technology is actively used in municipal authorities, which allows for the integration of strategies, projects and programs developed at various levels of management. It is summed up that by clearly defining the goals and results of projects, the scope of work, participants and resources, as well as taking into account the impact of the environment, municipal government entities can carry out targeted socio-economic changes within their territory.
