The article substantiates the possibility of project management in the development of the real sector of the economy in the formation of the digital economy. The stages of project management, including the following components: collection, analysis and provision of analytical reports on the basis of data on project activities; methods of project management; selection of the organizational structure of project management; justification of the project passport; funds of all possible sources of financing of project activities; factors that significantly affect the work of the project team and the implementation of the project as a whole; analysis and identification of existing risks and risk situations it is Proved that the project approach is a flexible iterative-incremental approach to project management in economic systems of any level of management, focused on the dynamic formation of requirements and ensuring their implementation as a result of constant interaction within self-organizing working groups consisting of specialists of different profiles and providing for the implementation of various methods of financing this subject area. Implementation of project management at the enterprises of the real sector of economy assumes switching from management on functions of division to management on the purposes when the focus of attention switches from processes and procedures to result.
