The projects “school of life” and “school of memory”

We believe that the purpose of the project activity of schoolchildren is not in making a “product”, but in the development of personal properties and competencies necessary for successful life in a dynamically changing and indefinite world. The article is a practice-oriented justification for the ideas that were reflected in the book "History in Projects: Pedagogical Support for Educational Projects" (O. Yu. Strelova, E. E. Vyazemsky. Moscow: Russkiy Mir Publ., 2021). The authors of the book formulate “maxims” of the educational project based on a value-semantic analysis of the challenges of the modern world, the tasks of school education caused by them, the content and forms of personality-oriented pedagogical activity, the features of intellectual development and socialization of children of the digital era. As a result, project activity greatly enhance the potential of the discipline "History" in the field of civil, patriotic, spiritual and moral development of the individual, the culture of memory and communication. Using the examples of the projects presented in the article, history teachers can orient themselves in the field of knowledge, practical area, problem field, theme and objective of the student’s project as “the road to another oneself’, as well as find out about public educational organizations that initiate the inspired creative competitions.
