The article considers psychological and educational aspects of top-qualification personnel training in postgraduate course and internship due to the transition of the Russian education system to the level model of training. Professional orientation is presented as a personal component, making a decisive contribution to the development of a competitive specialist and being a basic motivational determinant of operational competencies formation. The author proposes a model of professional orientation, including emotional, cognitive, motivational, prospective objective, value and reflective components with description of their content and basic functions. The research prospects of the declared range of issues are also outlined.
