Professional training of choreographers in the conditions of cultural transformations of folk dance traditions

The article is devoted to the actual problems of training young specialists in the fi eld of Russian folk dance in the system of higher education. One of the important problems is considered the preservation and development of national culture. The status of the future specialist choreographer, his mastery of movements, style, character and dance style depends on the level of knowledge of traditions. The article reveals the forms of recreating Russian dance and using choreographic art in practice. The unique features of the region's national dances, music, manner of performance, spatial pattern, and costume stand out. The problems and processes of improvement in the educational process are determined. The main emphasis is placed on the works and creative heritage of outstanding choreographers, practicing teachers in the fi eld of studying Russian folk dance. It is noted that the experience of training choreographers, choreographers, future leaders of Russian folk dance groups is in demand, meets both the rich folk traditions that have proven their viability and relevance, and is being developed in accordance with modern approaches.
