Professional development of students in the context of digital education: problems and solutions

Modern social transformation processes actualize the consideration of youth problems, including the process of youth socialization. Professional education determines the trends of strategic development of society, forms the foundation for the professional and social development of student youth, who act as a strategic resource of the state. At the same time, it should meet the needs of the digital economy with an emphasis on the formation of such qualities of a university graduate as technical and creative thinking, communication skills, constructiveness, digital literacy, and focus on achieving results. In this case, digital technologies can have a global impact on the process of socialization of students in the higher education system. In this context, the study of students as a potential carrier of the future society is an urgent scientific and applied problem. As a rule, students have a high level of education, academic motivation, social activity and increased adaptation to innovation. A new generation of specialists should enter the labor market, distinguished by a system of value self-awareness, behavior patterns, attitude to work, and digital competence skills. In this regard, it is necessary to search for innovative forms, methods and means of teaching students, to design the educational process taking into account the use of information technologies. The authors provide an essential interpretation of the concepts of “student youth”, “professional socialization”, “digital education”. The publication presents the results of a sociological survey of students regarding the organization of the process of professional socialization in the Tyumen Industrial and Tyumen State Institute of Culture. The purpose of the author’s research is to form professional skills and digital literacy skills in demand in the digital economy.
