Occupation-relevant (personal) characteristics taken for the background in self-concept’ development of students in linguistics

The paper considers an issue of occupational self-concept’ development while training specialists in linguistics to come. The study emphasized relevance of upgrading quality of the vocational training, and specified that the main point in forming professional competence lies in further personal development, in raising occupational self-actualization in a whole and occupational self-concept in particular. The author inferred that peculiarity of functioning of an expert in linguistics consists in specific occupation-relevant personal characteristics (required for efficient operation of a specialist) being related to the process of cognition.
