Research relevance. This article is discussing advantages and disadvantages of both a controlled labor market and a free labor market, as well as their impact on the vocational education system. Research objectives: to reveal the advantages and disadvantages in terms of the formation of a specialist, as well as the development of an enterprise, institution and organization. Research materials and methods: the analysis of the controlled market of the professional market is carried out from the point of view of the formation of the competence of a specialist, the influence of free educational market on decision-making by institutions and organizations that form a competitive specialist. Research results: the labor market does not require a theoretically educated child prodigy, but professionals who are able to solve practical problems, purposeful and creative. Conclusions: government education standards should be developed only for state enterprises, organizations and institutions.
