The article lists the persons who are obliged to ensure the principle of equality of all before the law and the court in criminal proceedings; violations of this principle are listed, the presence or absence of which depends on the personal qualities of the law enforcement officer. The authors investigate the ethical and deontological requirements for the profession of the lawyer, the formation of their moral qualities in the process of professional self-determination, which is considered as one of the guarantees of the principle of equality of all before the law and the court.
