Professional standards for certifications in the field of psychology

The purpose of certification is to assure the public that individuals who practice an occupation or profession have met certain standards. This paper describes professional standard of psychologists working in independent practice. The standard is based on established scientific criteria for psychology as a science and profession. Introduction of system of certification would guarantee the quality of psychological services provided within Russian Federation.
