Nowadays, the professional patriotism of pedagogical workers as a socio-cultural phenomenon in the context of the competence approach is of particular importance. The article analyzes the issue of professional training in the field of basic patriotic education through goal setting and the formation of knowledge, skills and abilities in working with students. The novelty of the study lies in the analysis of the scarcity of pedagogical competencies in the field of patriotic education and the need for common understanding of civic consciousness and patriotism at all levels of the social structure. Patriotic professionalism of a pedagogical worker in the system of further vocational education is a socio-cultural phenomenon that integrates ideological, psychological, activity-based, communicative and other components. The article presents the results of studies of professional patriotism, its interpretations, the main forms and technologies of formation available in the system of further vocational education.
