Professor archpriest Alexander Rozhdestvensky as the interpretator of the holy scripture of the Old Testament

The article deals with the personality and scientific heritage of Professor of Saint Petersburg Theological Academy archpriest A.P. Rozhdestvensky. The article contains the analysis of main methods of his interpretation of the Scripture on the material of his master and doctoral theses with the consideration of his lectures on the the Holy Scripture of the Old Testament. It's shown how the appropriate use of scientific tools allows the researcher to clearly reveal the meaning of the biblical texts.
