Prevention activities of police officers at the railway transport objects

The article deals with the legal aspects of crime prevention in passenger-trains. The research objective is to study the current state of information support of the police operational and investigative transport units on criminal investigation in trains. The author determines and substantiates the methods of collection, accumulation, processing, storage and use of relevant data. The conclusions concern the peculiarities of the passenger rail transport functioning that should be considered by operational and investigative officers in prevention and solution of crimes of the studied type. The findings and guidelines can be used for the prevention of railway crimes.
