The main cause of avitaminosis in animals is unbalanced nutrition. It is most often seen when the diet does not have enough food with high carbohydrate content. In piglets, deficiency develops as a result of milk feeding to mothers who have a lack of carotene in the body. When vitamins enter the body, they form some kind of bond, thanks to which they can take part in important biological functions of the body. Avitaminosis is a position that qualifies a decrease compared to the amount of hemoglobin and erythrocytes in a unit of blood volume. This may be due to a complete decrease in the number of erythrocytes or due to their functional lack due to a reduced hemoglobin content.
