Paroxysmal-progressive schizophrenia is a combination of persistent and paroxysmal course or paroxysmal course of the disease with various acute and subacute psychotic states, varying degrees of progression and mental defect and varying degrees of severity of personality changes. Initially, the so-called paroxysmal-progredient schizophrenia was now considered as an expression of a combination of a sluggish continuous course and repeated attacks of schizophrenia. However, further studies have shown that the spectrum of disorders reflecting the continuous nature of the painful process and seizures goes beyond such concepts. It was found that, although in some cases the disease is only paroxysmal, the degree of progression of the painful process in this form of course is very pronounced and varies widely, which leads to a rapid increase in the defect of the attack in some patients, and in others to relatively mild personality changes. In addition to the points highlighted above, this article evaluates the effectiveness of modern methods in the treatment and prevention of affective disorders of schizophrenia with an attack progredient, which in the future can be widely used in medical practice
