Crime prevention as a paradigm for ensuring criminological security

Introduction. The purpose is to identify the problem areas in providing criminological security and outline new directions for ensuring criminological security. Materials, Results and Discussion. It is revealed that more than 54% of citizens of our country are afraid of becoming victims of drunk drivers, street hooligans, drug addicts, thieves, etc. The monitoring of criminological security in Krasnodar Krai and Omsk Region conducted in 2022 showed that more than 67% of citizens are afraid of becoming victims of Internet scammers, terrorists, extremist manifestations, as well as petty (everyday) corruption. 49% of them expressed doubts that law enforcement agencies are able to protect them from criminal influences targeting them and their property.
