Far Eastern Federal University prevention of online extremism among students (by a case study of Far Eastern Federal University)

The study reveals the features and assesses the current state of the system of preventing online extremism among students based on the process and system approach by a case study of Far Eastern Federal University. This system is being developed. The results of an expert survey conducted among administrative and management personnel engaged in teaching and educational area and security control, teaching staff as well as students and representatives of student associations identify that extremism on the Internet is a very dangerous, negative phenomenon which must be opposed by the society. In this regard, the society needs the preventive measures that do not counteract the accomplished extremist acts but are aimed at forestalling, warning, not committing extremist crimes and offences by students as well as avoiding influence of recruiters on the Internet. The interviewed experts tried to highlight the effective methods of preventing online extremism among the students. They emphasized the importance of informational, educational and promotional preventive approaches developed to offer alternative activities to students.
