Land use forecasting by means of information technology

The article presents a study on the problem of training future specialists in the field of land planning and cadastral registration to use information technologies for land use forecasting. The aim of the article - the scientific justification of the possible approach to the formation of students’ professional competence of “Land Management and Cadastres” in the application of information technologies in the land use forecasting. The study is based on the results of the analysis of the content of the professional standard of training in the field of land management and cadastres in terms of labor activities related to land use forecasting. The results of the work are presented by proposing an option of involving students in land forecasting using modern information technologies. It is emphasized that spreadsheets are a handy tool for organizing this process, while allowing the use of built-in functions and data analysis tools. Assignments to land use forecasting integrate students’ labor skills in applying knowledge to a specific situation, determining the order of implementation of information technology, and using special calculation methods.
