On the use of the word "romantic" in Rousseau’s "Walks of the lonely dreamer" and Senacour’s "Oberman"

In the article one can find the analysis and comparison of the usage of the word «romantic» in works of Rousseau and Senacour by the example of selected works, that allows us to highlighten the problem of proRomantic trends in French literature and to show the connection between the literature of the XIX century and the traditions of the previous era. Comparative analysis reveals that Senancour is one of the followers of Rousseau, but also leads to the question of the influence of «Walks of a Dreamer» to the early French Romanticism.
