This article describes the essence of the theory developed by the authors of the manifestation of geomechanical catastrophes of the first kind, namely, manifestations of mechanical destruction of geological bodies of minerals and host rocks. The results of more than 20 years of positive industrial approbation based on this theory of the method for predicting spatial dislocations in the mine field of foci of natural destruction of geological bodies of minerals and host rocks, which have a natural origin, are also presented. The scientific concept of the generalization of geomechanical catastrophes of the first kind to geomechanical catastrophes occurring in coal mines, namely the sudden release of coal and gases and subsequent explosions of gases and underground fires, is presented.
